Sixty percent of Kaiken's 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon spent 8 months in American oak. Purple-colored, it has a pleasing perfume of cedar, spice box, espresso, and black currant. Medium- to full-bodied, smooth-textured, and tasty, it has lots of spicy black fruit, good depth, and a medium-length finish. Drink it over the next 4 years.

The Winemaker

Dark ruby, ripe and pure, with a great presence of blackberry and blueberry fruit, this Cabernet bring bitter chocolate, cedar, tobacco, coffee and mineral notes from the Agrelo area. Tannins are well-formed, and its comes together beautifully, with a silky and balance finish.

Vintage 2006: Medium ruby-red. Expressive aromas of plum, smoked meat, licorice and sexy nutty oak. Rather laid-back on the palate, with a slightly gamey quality to the currant, plum and chocolatey oak flavors. Not a particularly generous style but very cabernet. Finishes with a note of coffeed oak and broad, dusty tannins.
