ReviewsRomazini: 5/5 StarsRobert Parker: 88/100 PointsVintage 2005: Slightly more intense than the Vina Borgia (and priced $2 higher) is the 2005 Borsao, a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Tempranillo. This stainless steel-fermented, deep ruby-hued effort displays plenty of sweet black cherry, strawberry, and raspberry fruit, a hint of black currants, medium body, silky tannin, and wonderful ripeness. The WinemakerIt has a cherry red colour with touches of garnet and an elegant, deep ruby background. In the nose, we perceive its great intensity where fruity and varietal tones are combined perfectly with vanilla and smooth oak tannins. Intense in the mouth, fleshy and well-structured with an ample and pleasing aftertaste. Harvest: Second half of October, Alcohol percentage: 13.5%. Vinification: Separate fermentation of the three varieties in stainless steel tanks started at 25º C and ending at 30º C, with a total duration of 21 days. Afterwards the wine is aged in American and French oak barrels for a minimum of 8 months. Then, it is rounded off in bottles for 14 months.
