Vintage 2008: This round red offers cherry, plum, anise and herbal notes over light, firm tannins, with clean acidity and an herbal finish. Not powerful, but shows good balance. Drink now through 2013.

Vintage 2008: The 2008 Finca Resalso was made from the estate's younger Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) vines and aged in French oak for 4 months. Dark ruby-colored, it exhibits a nicely perfumed nose of violets, spice box, leather, and black cherry. This is followed by a medium to full-bodied wine with plenty of savory fruit, an easy-going personality, and excellent depth. This lengthy effort actually has 2-3 years of aging potential but can be enjoyed now. It over-delivers in a big way.

Vintage 2008: A recommended entry-level Ribera, with aromas of violets, minerals and oak. The palate has a standard, competent feel and balance along with flavors of gangly berry fruit and black cherry. Mocha and vanilla help sweeten and soften up the finish, but overall it's a regular, fresh type of wine.
