ReviewsRomazini: 3/5 StarsThe Winespectator: 93/100 PointsDisplays blackberry, cherry and hints of sweet tobacco. Full-bodied, with soft, velvety tannins and a long, caressing finish. Very pretty and solid. This is structured and chewy. Needs time. Best after 2013. 20,830 cases made. Robert Parker: 91/100 PointsThis forward-styled 2005 possesses a dense ruby/purple color in addition to a big, sweet bouquet of roasted herbs, fudge, espresso, figs, and cherry jam. Opulent, even decadent, with low acidity, but high glycerin and fruit extract as well as a flamboyant fleshiness, this is a stunningly impressive, hedonistic, savory Margaux to enjoy between 2010-2025. Stephen Tanzer: 91/100 PointsBright full ruby. Sexy, high-toned nose offers blackberry, violet, flowers, licorice and toasty oak. Intensely flavored, juicy and vibrant, with lovely inner-mouth energy giving the black fruit flavors a penetrating quality. Very concentrated, rather modern-style wine that's still youthfully tough but finishes with considerable power. There's something very seductive about this. Jancis Robinson: 16/20 PointsA little bit thick and chocolatey - picked very ripe and with pretty dry tannins on the finish. Just a bit too big for its boots.
